Build your audit career inside a fast-expanding techno-commercial business
element is hiring for a high-growth client in the lifting solutions industry — a fast-expanding, techno-commercial business supporting critical sectors such as energy, oil & gas, marine, construction, infrastructure, material handling and industrial projects.
This is a business where technical expertise, commercial speed and operational reliability come together. As the company expands its market presence, strengthens its systems and manages increasingly complex projects, it is building stronger governance, controls and accountability across every function.
We are looking for anInternal Auditorwho wants to grow with that journey.
This is not a role focused only on checking invoices, ticking boxes or identifying procedural gaps after the event. It is an opportunity to understand how a growing industrial business operates, identify where value or control may be lost, strengthen business processes and help leadership make better-informed decisions.
Why this role matters
In a fast-growing business, risks rarely announce themselves.
They appear as:
A purchase made without adequate comparison.
Inventory that cannot be fully traced.
A commercial approval that was never documented.
A customer balance that remains unresolved.
A process that works differently in every department.
A control that exists on paper but not in practice.
The Internal Auditor will provide an independent and evidence-based view of how effectively the company’s processes, controls and governance practices are operating.
You will help the business grow — with control.
You will help teams move faster — with accountability.
You will help leadership identify risk — before it becomes loss, disruption or exposure.
What you will do
Internal audit planning and execution
- Support the preparation of risk-based annual and periodic internal audit plans.
- Conduct scheduled and surprise audits across departments, branches, warehouses, workshops, projects and operational locations.
- Review the effectiveness of internal controls, approval processes and segregation of duties.
- Evaluate whether business activities are being performed in accordance with approved policies, procedures and delegated authority levels.
- Document audit objectives, scope, testing methods, findings and supporting evidence.
- Maintain complete and well-organised audit working papers.
- Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, irregularities and areas of potential financial or operational exposure.
Financial and transactional controls
- Review revenue, purchasing, payments, expenses, advances, reimbursements, credit notes and other financial transactions.
- Verify supporting documents, approvals, account coding and adherence to company procedures.
- Review customer receivables, supplier balances, ageing reports and long-outstanding items.
- Examine bank reconciliations, petty cash, employee advances and other cash-related controls.
- Review journal entries, provisions, adjustments and unusual transactions where required.
- Assess whether financial records accurately reflect the underlying business activity.
- Support investigations into discrepancies, unauthorised transactions or suspected misuse of company resources.
Inventory, warehouse and asset audits
- Conduct physical inventory checks and participate in periodic stock counts.
- Verify the accuracy of inventory records against physical quantities.
- Review controls over material receipt, storage, issuance, transfer, production consumption, return and dispatch.
- Examine stock adjustments, write-offs, damaged materials, scrap and slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Review traceability of high-value and safety-critical materials, products and lifting accessories.
- Verify controls relating to tools, machinery, testing equipment, vehicles, IT assets and other fixed assets.
- Identify inventory leakage, unexplained variance, inaccurate recording or weaknesses in custody and access controls.
Procurement and supplier controls
- Review purchase requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, supplier selection and approval documentation.
- Assess compliance with procurement policies and delegated authority limits.
- Verify whether appropriate commercial comparisons and supporting justifications are maintained.
- Review potential conflicts of interest, duplicate suppliers, unusual purchasing patterns or repetitive exceptions.
- Examine supplier advances, open purchase orders, goods received but not invoiced and invoice matching.
- Assess supplier onboarding, due diligence and master-data controls.
- Recommend improvements that strengthen transparency without unnecessarily slowing procurement activity.
Sales, commercial and project audits
- Review quotations, discounts, pricing approvals, customer credit limits and contract documentation.
- Assess whether sales orders, delivery records, invoices and customer acknowledgements are properly aligned.
- Review project-related expenses, material usage, subcontractor costs, variations and billing.
- Examine the commercial and financial controls applied to high-value or technically complex orders.
- Review margin deviations, unbilled revenue, delayed invoicing and commercial exceptions.
- Verify whether customer-specific terms and contractual commitments are clearly documented and approved.
- Identify areas where revenue, margin, cash collection or contractual protection may be at risk.
Process, compliance and operational audits
- Review processes across finance, procurement, sales, production, warehouse, logistics, projects, HR, payroll, IT and administration.
- Assess adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures and approval matrices.
- Review access rights, system controls and user-authorisation practices within ERP, accounting and operational systems.
- Identify manual processes, duplicate activities and control gaps that increase the risk of error or manipulation.
- Evaluate whether management reports are supported by complete and reliable data.
- Support audits connected to quality, HSE, certification and regulatory requirements where relevant.
- Assess whether records are complete, controlled, retrievable and audit-ready.
Audit reporting and follow-up
- Prepare clear audit reports covering findings, risks, root causes and recommended corrective actions.
- Categorise findings based on their financial, operational, compliance or reputational impact.
- Present findings professionally and objectively to department heads and management.
- Agree practical corrective actions, responsible owners and completion timelines.
- Maintain an audit action tracker and regularly follow up on outstanding findings.
- Verify whether corrective actions have been properly implemented and are operating effectively.
- Escalate overdue or high-risk findings to the appropriate leadership level.
- Highlight recurring control issues and systemic risks rather than reporting each incident in isolation.
Risk management and continuous improvement
- Support the identification and documentation of business risks across departments.
- Contribute to the development of risk registers, control matrices and process documentation.
- Review new processes, systems or business activities from a control and risk perspective.
- Recommend practical improvements that strengthen controls, reduce waste and simplify workflows.
- Analyse patterns in audit findings, losses, stock variances, exceptions and policy deviations.
- Help management distinguish between isolated mistakes and underlying process weaknesses.
- Promote a culture where internal audit is viewed as a business-improvement partner without compromising independence.
What makes this opportunity exciting
This role sits inside a business that is expanding its operations, customer base, technical capabilities and geographical reach.
You will gain practical exposure to:
- Industrial and project-based business operations.
- Lifting, rigging and wire rope products and solutions.
- Inventory-intensive and workshop-based environments.
- Procurement and supplier management.
- Commercial controls and project profitability.
- ERP, finance and operational systems.
- Risk-based auditing and control testing.
- Financial, operational and compliance audits.
- Management reporting and corrective-action governance.
- Senior leadership and cross-functional decision-making.
For the right person, this role can grow into broader responsibility across internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance, process excellence and business controls.
This is not only a role for someone who wants to identify what went wrong.
It is for someone who wants to help prevent it from happening again.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification: CA, ACCA, CMA, CIA, or an equivalent certification.
- Approximately3–6 years of internal audit, external audit, risk, controls or compliance experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, trading, industrial, construction, oil & gas, marine, logistics or project-based environments will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, financial processes and operational risk.
- Experience reviewing procurement, inventory, sales, receivables, payments and business operations.
- Ability to analyse transactions, identify unusual patterns and investigate discrepancies.
- Experience preparing audit working papers, reports and corrective-action trackers.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with ERP, accounting and business-management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience that will give you an advantage
- Experience auditing inventory-intensive businesses, warehouses or manufacturing operations.
- Exposure to lifting equipment, rigging, wire ropes, industrial products or material handling.
- Experience with project audits, contract reviews or commercial-control audits.
- Understanding of VAT, corporate tax, financial reporting and applicable UAE regulatory requirements.
- Experience reviewing payroll, HR administration and employee-related controls.
- Knowledge of ISO-based management systems.
- Exposure to fraud-risk assessment, investigations or forensic reviews.
- Experience working across multiple branches, entities or countries.
- Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor, Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification.
The person who will succeed here
You look beyond the document.
You ask whether the transaction makes commercial sense.
Whether the approval came from the right authority.
Whether the inventory actually exists.
Whether the reported margin reflects the true cost.
Whether the process protects the company or only creates the appearance of control.
You are curious without becoming intrusive, independent without becoming disconnected and firm without becoming unnecessarily confrontational.
You are comfortable working with finance teams, commercial teams, warehouses, workshops, project teams and senior management.
You do not stop at identifying a problem. You understand the cause, evaluate the impact and recommend a practical way forward.
You know that a good auditor does not create fear.
A good auditor creates visibility, discipline and confidence.
Why join this opportunity?
Because this is not an internal audit role inside a static or heavily layered organisation.
It is an opportunity to join a growing techno-commercial business at a stage where governance, systems and operational discipline will directly influence its ability to scale.
You will work close to the business, gain exposure across multiple functions and help shape controls that support growth rather than restrict it.
Your observations will matter.
Your recommendations will be visible.
Your work will help protect the company’s assets, strengthen decision-making and improve how the business operates.
If you are looking for a role where internal audit is expected to deliver real business value — not simply produce reports — this is a serious opportunity.
